A Family Legacy of Spirit
Ingrid Toler was born into a world where the supernatural was simply a part of daily life. Coming from a long line of gifted individuals, her grandfather was known for predicting major historical events like the fall of the Twin Towers, while her great grandmother faced the harsh reality of being misunderstood as a witch in the early 1900s. Ingrid’s own journey began at the young age of four, when she started communicating with a spirit who watched over her and kept her safe from the road outside her home. This family history meant that her gifts were always accepted and nurtured rather than questioned.
“My mom never questioned anything I had to say about the spirit world or the afterlife because her own father, which was my grandfather, he was a psychic medium as well.”
The Day Death Lost Its Sting
On New Year’s Day in 2001, a medical emergency left Ingrid Toler fighting for her life in a hospital room. During this crisis, she experienced what she describes as a profound out of body experience where she rose above her physical form and walked through a tunnel toward a brilliant light. On the other side, she met spirit guides and felt a sense of peace so deep that she almost did not want to return. This encounter completely removed her fear of dying and gave her a firsthand look at the beauty that waits for us when our time on Earth is done. Even the doctors were baffled when she eventually returned and her blood levels miraculously restored themselves.
“When you do cross over, it is like the most peaceful thing you ever experience. It does not hurt. It is so peaceful you do not want to come back.”
Lessons from the School of Life
Ingrid Toler refers to our time on this planet as the School of Life, a place where we are meant to learn, grow, and ultimately move closer to a higher purpose. She believes that mediumship is not about dark magic, but rather about providing evidence of eternal love. When she connects with spirits, she insists on receiving specific details that only the living would know, like the names of old friends or specific details about a car lot, to ensure the message is authentic. For Ingrid, energy is something that can never be destroyed, it only changes form as we transition from this world to the next.
“Your soul is made up of energy, so your energy cannot die. It cannot be destroyed. So where does it go? It goes to the other side.”
