The Making of a Medium

Precious did not always embrace her gifts. In fact, she spent much of her life trying to avoid them. Growing up in a strict Christian household in Ohio and California, she often felt conflicted about the spirits she could see and hear starting at age five. Her mother was a pastor, which led to a long battle between her natural abilities and her religious upbringing. It was not until she faced her fears head on during a reading for a client that she realized her ability could be a source of healing rather than a source of terror.

Haunted Hotels and High Stakes

Now based in Parkersburg, West Virginia, Precious operates her business, Intuitively Precious, where she offers tarot and mediumship. She has encountered everything from protective child spirits at house parties to legendary figures in haunted landmarks. One of her most chilling encounters happened at the historic Blennerhassett Hotel, where a man in a top hat watched her for an entire night. She later discovered from hotel staff that the figure was a known resident ghost with a dark, historical reputation.

The Geography of the Afterlife

When it comes to the big question of what happens after we pass away, Precious sees a landscape filled with many different paths. She believes that the nature of a person’s death can often dictate where their spirit lingers, with some remaining at the site of traumatic events while others move into different spiritual realms. For Precious, the work is about more than just seeing the dead; it is about providing answers and comfort to those still searching for a connection to the other side.
